Changing The Trajectory Of Our Community
Delta Circles utilizes techniques to advance economic equity, entrepreneurship and innovation to change the trajectory of communities. By recognizing the value of Black women and rural communities it provides solutions that impact generational change.
Arkansas Regional Level Statistics
According to the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas:
- Black women are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in America.
- Black women own 60% of Black-owned businesses in Arkansas
- 41.1% of businesses in Phillips County are owned by women in Arkansas.
- Women in Central and Northeast Arkansas are less likely to live in poverty with 83.9% of women in Central Arkansas and 82.7% in Northeast Arkansas living above poverty.
- The largest gap is in Arkansas Delta counties with 83% of white women living above poverty in contrast to 65.5% of women of color. This is an 18.2% gap.
- Women in Central and Northwest Arkansas are least likely to live in poverty, with 83.9 percent of women in Central Arkansas and 82.7 percent in Northwest Arkansas living above poverty.
- Women in Northeast and Southeast Arkansas are least likely to live above poverty regardless of race/ethnicity, yet the race/ethnic gap in both regions is larger than the race/ethnic gap in North- west or Central Arkansas.
- The smallest racial/ethnic gap in women’s poverty status is in Northwest Arkansas, with 75.6 percent of women of color and 83.4 percent of white women living above poverty.
- The largest gap is in Southeast Arkansas, where 83.7 percent of white women live above poverty in contrast to 65.5 percent of women of color. This is an 18.2 percent gap.

Delta Circles empowers women through a women’s savings group which was initiation approximately three years ago. We create a forum for women to strengthen their financial literacy and increase incomes by participating in our Women Increasing Net-worth (WIN) Savings Group.
