If you teach a woman to farm the community will eat.” -Author Unknown Delta Circles Ground Breakers has partnered with Delta Grows to change the food security landscape of an entire community with groundbreaking agricultural techniques and hands-on experiences.

Health

Delta Circles impacts health disparities through its partnership with the CDC Foundation. The Heart Healthy Communities Initiative is aimed at improving the health of medically underserved people in the Arkansas Delta. It gathers data on health needs and outcomes as well as provides information and resources to historically marginalized and disadvantaged populations. Our project supports community healthcare workers to go door to door, establish trusting relationships with citizens, and examine the relationship between health disparities, racial stigma, and discrimination in under-served communities.
Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurial Leadership project engages youth and adults in the community, to inspire an entrepreneurial perspective of their surroundings. The project is designed to inspire and engage participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset. The project provides technical support and access to capital and resources for seasoned business owners.
Delta Farmers Business Incubator

Delta Farmers Business Incubator

Delta Circles has partnered with ReMix Ideas to equip Black Farmers in the Delta region with practical tools to grow their businesses and increase access to fresh healthy food in Arkansas. The 12-week incubator program focuses on three areas: Knowledge Capital: Providing business education to help farmers build viable, sustainable and scalable businesses Financial Capital: Connecting farmers with potential funding sources Customers: Accessing new markets
Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy

Empowering Women through a women’s savings group is a flagship program of Delta Circles. Delta Circles creates a forum for women to strengthen their financial literacy and increase incomes. Women who participate in Delta Circles programming have seen measurable success in saving money and achieving personal goals. Additional support is provided for women who have engaged in entrepreneurship to increase income for savings.

Recognizing that agriculture is the new STEM, Delta Circles technology lab explores ways in which agriculture can be used to create innovative mindsets while generating sustainable incomes through career opportunities in agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship. This historic Eliza Miller campus serves as the ideal setting for fostering the next generation of agricultural innovators.
